Listen, I had a near same experience. Two years ago I flew to Tokyo to go stay with a host family, and I wasn't too thrilled about it. 13 hours on a plane will put those pessimistic thoughts into your head. Trust me, you will LOVE the trip. My host family was the greatest, even without speaking English. You'll get over the language barrier in a few days. Going to Japan was one of the greatest experiences of my life. If I could suggest, check out Shibuya in Tokyo. Don't worry about it, have a great time. Oh, and sex with asian women.
