Comparison from this time last year.

This is my attempt at a "news-worthy" post. I'm guessing it should contain some sort of flash material, not just me talking about random stuff.

Well here is a comparison of Render, the character from Reboot, from around the same time last year. This is a comparison between Render in Reboot 6 and Render in Reboot 10(The one I'm working on now). I'm overhauling how most of the characters look because a common problem (and a common complaint) is that the faces aren't animated enough.

My flash skills sure have come a long way since the first episode :P I go to film school and sometimes it's really hard to jump between regular filmmaking and doing animation. It's weird having so many possibilities, where in film you are usually strapped for cash... in flash, or animation, you can do whatever you want.. and the better you get, the more you can do... at least it's been that way for me. Check out my stuff before NES dreams, I think you will agree that my quality threshold has increased.

I'm actually trying really hard to release Reboot 10 by x-mas. o_o may santa bring my x-mas wish true.

all characters progress over time, and when you look back, you can't believe it.

I wonder. Are you ever going to consider remaking the first couple of episodes once you've completed the series?

Completing the series will take a long time lol.. I imagine I'll be doing this for the next 5 years, on top of a job...

Also.. the first episodes are supposed to be kind of simple looking.. they're supposed to look innocent. The plan from the beginning was to keep things relatively low-key until I could actually handle animating an action scene. Then after that, the tone would get much darker. It has... and the older episodes kind of represent a simpler time. As Render begins to change, you'll notice the graphics change the most.

woah, it really is a big difference. :P

X-Mas.

That. Is. Just. Insane. o_o;;;;;;;
( sure, it'd make an awesome christmas present, but as some other guy said in your previous newspost, this must be killin' you! o_O )

How can you aim to get so far... in so few time? It's unimaginable for me.
Or rather: How can you animate so fast?

(Taken aside that you've by now become a master in flash, which is just the point of this newspost, comparing now/then)

Yeah, it really is a big noticable difference. I don't think the previous episodes should be redone or anything, they are still great the way they are. And I think that what you said about the story being more simple at the start is also true.

I really wasn't expecting you to have another new episode out so soon (by xmas), but that's really great as long as you don't rush yourself too much. And make sure you don't waste all of your holiday time trying to finish the animation!

I like a challenge :P The week before x-mas will be hectic :P
